Jewellery Care Guide

Our Jewellery is designed to be worn for many years to come. But like all things, it requires the proper care to avoid breakages and from time to time a little TLC, to keep its beautiful golden lustre.

Store it like you care!

Properly storing your jewellery when you’re not wearing it, is crucial to preserving its life. You want to prevent scratches and keep it away from chemicals and moisture, to prevent it from tarnishing and getting dull.

If you don’t own one already, get a jewellery box to store your treasures. This will allow you to keep them from rubbing against each other as well as keeping chains organised and detangled. It will also keep humidity and chemicals at bay which will prevent oxidation and keep it shining longer.

We provide you with a practical cotton jewellery pouch, which is also a wonderful way to keep each piece safe from scratches on the go or to store in your home jewellery storage solution.

Accessorise mindfully!

When you choose your pieces for the day, make sure you first let any cosmetics and perfume dry before you wear them. Exposing jewellery to soaps, moisturisers or sprays can result in dulling and tarnishing of precious metals. Therefore make sure that your skin is completely dry before you accessorise. Perfumes can be particularly damaging due to its alcohol and essential oils content. We advise you to wait for at least 10 minutes after applying perfume. Similarly, don’t forget to remove jewellery when reapplying moisturisers or perfumes.

Tender Loving Care!

Everything needs a bit of love. To properly care for your jewellery, you should give it a clean ever so often.  Gold vermeil has sterling silver as a base metal, but you mustn’t use silver cleaner on your gold vermeil jewellery. A simple microfibre polishing cloth can remove build-up of dirt and premature tarnish. Wipe your piece down, sticking to one direction, rather than in a circular motion.
