Why ‘Wild’?
We named it Wild because everything about it reminded me of the wild, uncensored nature of a woman, described in a book I was reading at the time. The term coined by Clarissa Pincola Estes of the ‘Wild Woman’ is what inspired it in the end.
Somewhere throughout our lives we all wonder who we are, what our purpose is and how we can go about fulfilling it. In a time of my life where I was asking myself these questions, Clarissa Pincola Estes’ book was part of the literature guiding me.
Cultivating my natural instincts to find my way to my true self, felt like exactly what I needed. Nobody could tell me who I was, though many have tried, albeit mostly subconsciously. We grow up in a society that is always moulding us in its image, and we are rarely taught to do the same in our own, authentic image.
The truth of this is visible in the whole world. Everything is out of balance, wars and suffering are everywhere, and the natural world is in steady demise.
However, there are many movements, working to restore our world, our sense of self, our sense of community, family…you name it.
Rewilding- Returning To Yourself
Often we hear the term ‘rewilding’. It is used in connection with restoring natural habitats and solving environmental issues. But it is also used in the context of personal development. Rewilding for humans means reconnecting with nature. Not just with nature outside of us, but also with our own individual nature. ‘Rewilding’ then, is imprinted in our ‘Wild’ Jewellery pieces.
Creating The Texture
The texture itself is created with a particular texturing hammer. The hammer strokes are purposely done in an intuitive, irregular and non linear fashion, to create a ‘wild’, unstructured vibe. The combination of this with sleek lines and polished gold is the epitome of perfect imperfection.
This is what we are as humans. We are part of perfect universal force, born as imperfect humans, always searching, always learning, always changing, always journeying.
Be wild, be YOU!
